Privacy & data protection

Tuprae is a product of Gobbas IT (business ID 278074-7), a company registered in Finland. Gobbas IT is the data controller responsible for the personal data described on this page. You can reach us at support@tuprae.com for general questions, or billing@tuprae.com for anything related to payments or invoices.

We keep this list short on purpose — Tuprae routers don't phone home with your network activity, so there's very little of yours for us to hold in the first place. When you register a device or buy a license, we collect:

• Your router's serial number — to link a license to a specific device.
• Your email address — to send license confirmations, renewal reminders, and payment receipts.
• Payment verification — handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your card number; we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with a transaction reference and amount.
• Your language preference — so confirmations and reminder emails reach you in the language you use the site in.
• Basic, anonymous visit counts for this website — which pages are viewed and roughly how many unique visitors we get, not tied to your identity.

That's the complete list. We don't collect your name, physical address, phone number, or anything about how you use your router or your home network.

We process this data because it's necessary to sell and deliver your license, verify it's still valid, and handle payment — in other words, to perform the contract you enter into when you buy a Tuprae license. Anonymous site visit counts are processed under our legitimate interest in understanding whether the site works and where to improve it.

We keep your email address and serial number for as long as your license is active, and for two years after it expires or you stop renewing it — after that, we delete them. You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time; see "Your rights" below.

One exception: records of payments and invoices may need to be kept longer where Finnish accounting law requires it, regardless of when a license itself expires.

We use a small number of specialist providers to run Tuprae, and only share what each one needs to do its job:

• Stripe — processes payments and card details. We never see your full card number.
• Resend — delivers license confirmation, receipt, and renewal-reminder emails on our behalf.
• MongoDB Atlas — hosts our database (serial numbers, email addresses, license and payment status).
• Railway — hosts the tuprae.com application, in the EU.
• Cloudflare — stores firmware image files and serves this website.

We never sell your data, and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers — there's no one else in the chain.

Some pages recommend hardware, such as the GL.iNet router on our homepage, using affiliate links clearly marked as such. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Once you follow a link to another site, that site's own privacy policy applies — we don't pass any personal data to affiliate partners ourselves.

This site sets one cookie for visitors: an anonymous, randomly generated ID (no name, email, or identity attached) used purely to count unique visits, stored for up to a year. It isn't used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Your language choice is remembered in your browser's local storage, not a cookie, and never leaves your device.

• We don't monitor, log, or have any visibility into your internet traffic or home network activity — Tuprae doesn't send that information anywhere, ever.
• We don't run advertising or third-party marketing trackers on this site.
• We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal data, to anyone, for any reason.

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct it if it's inaccurate or incomplete.
• Ask us to delete it.
• Ask us to restrict how we process it.
• Receive it in a portable, machine-readable format.
• Object to processing based on our legitimate interest.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@tuprae.com — we'll respond within a month.

If you believe we've mishandled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. In Finland, that's the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
